Choose your MP- List or electorate

Picture
Below, you can find out about the MPs that you can encourage to engage with Fair Trade, and whether they’ve already made a commitment by making a pledge, or by already being part of the Fair Trade Communities Project.

You can either find out who your Electorate MP is and contact your Local MP through the Electorate MPs list, or you may want to spread your efforts across various MPs representing various parties via the List MPs.

Electorate MP: A Member of Parliament (MP ) who is elected to represent a General or Maori electorate by winning a simple majority of Electorate Votes in that electorate.

List MP: A Member of Parliament (MP) who is elected from a party list rather than from a geographical constituency. Their presence in Parliament is owed to the number of votes that their party won, not to votes received by the MP personally.
