In your Place of Worship
Ever wondered how you can make a difference to the lives of farmers and their communities in the developing world? Supporting and promoting fair trade is a simple but direct way for you and your congregation to get involved and to help empower those in great need.
There are many different ways you can help fair trade farmers and artisans, their families, workers and communities to work their way out of poverty. Here are just a few.
Hold a Fairtrade morning tea, use fair trade products and gifts at fundraising events, organise an event during Fair Trade Fortnight. If you already do these, why not register your faith group as a Fair Trade Faith Group to get recognition for your commitment to support those less fortunate.
Start your Church meeting with a cup of Fairtrade tea and you and your parishioners could be helping tea estate workers in Uganda build a new clinic, vital for the health of their community.
