Using the FAIRTRADE Label
The FAIRTRADE Label is the exclusive property of Fairtrade Labelling Organisations (FLO) International and internationally registered as a trademark (International Registration no. 806431. Registered in Australia in the name of FLO under no. 964812. Registered in New Zealand in the name of FLO under no. 726542 & World Intellectual Property (WIPO) no. 806 431).
As a certification label, The FAIRTRADE Label may be used only in direct relation to products that are certified in accordance with Fairtrade standards. The Label can also be reproduced on printed promotional materials to encourage people to purchase Fairtrade Certified products.
Before printing or publishing material displaying the Label, you must receive written approval from FLANZ, by submitting your artwork to info@fairtrade.com.au. Ensure you send your material three weeks before your printing deadline to allow time to make possible revisions.
In order to apply The FAIRTRADE Label correctly to your materials, you should follow the appropriate guidelines, outlined below.
The FAIRTRADE Label can be used:
1. In a promotional context to promote the Fairtrade Labelling and Certification system. It can be used on a range of materials such as websites, brochures, and posters. The Label should be displayed alongside a slogan encouraging people to look for Fairtrade. In all cases, It should be clear to the viewer what the Label promotes and refers to. 2. By licensees only, on product packaging to indicate that the product is Fairtrade Certified and has been sourced through a Fairtrade supply chain. To request a copy of the manual for the use of the Label on packaging, email admin@fairtrade.com.au
PLEASE NOTE: Unless a product is registered AND a signed valid Licence Agreement is in existence covering the product(s) in question, artwork cannot be approved. In addition artwork and use of the Fairtrade Label is not approved unless you have received written confirmation from FLANZ.
